New Orleans Jazz "The Latino Connection"
at George and Joyce Wein Jazz and Heritage Center  7pm

Javier Olondo and Friends. Cuban guitarist, Javier Olondo will take the stage and invite prominent musical figures to join him in a special performance followed by two screenings of original documentaries. 1)“La Oruga y la Mariposa” (The Caterpillar and the Butterfly) highlighting the Cuban Congas and the Carnivals of Santiago de Cuba which reflect the lives of five Cubans in today’s Cuba. Producer: Tomas Montoya and Director: William Sabourin. 2) The Grammy award winning ReBirth Brass Band in Santiago de Cuba’s Carnival celebrations. Producer: CubaNOLA Arts Collective/Ariana Hall. Question and answer session followed by Cuban New Orleans based Jazz musician Alexey Marti and his Quintet. Scheduled to appear as guests artists,  Jee Yeoun Ko, Michael Pellera, Hector Gallardo, Pupi Menes, Jose "Pepe" Coloma,  Tony Dizant, Johnny Marcia, Jorge Perez and more

at the Audubon ZOO  10am

Audubon Zoo. The Zoo's Capital One Stage and Field is set to offer a true taste of the Latin American culture with live music, children’s activities and authentic Latin cuisine prepared and sold by local restaurants. Local artisans will sell handmade crafts, and local social service, health and education organizations will offer wellness, education and social service information.
